10 July 2006 - Well done to the Azzuri!
Ahhh, another 4 years until the next world cup.
More time for working I guess; so Addrandom.com has been sidelined at the moment while we wait to hear from an outside company on our big PR stunt. It should be very soon...
In the mean time I've been working on some other sites so haven't been actively chasing traffic. However all the sites should supplement each other with some good traffic when they eventually get launched.
Just letting you know, I have by no means forgotten about this site and it should have my full attention again soon.

19 June 2006 - "All quiet on the western front."
Since May we've now had over 250,000 hits, which is quiet a bit off target. Hadn't accounted for the World Cup in my action plan.
Thanks to coverage on the net we've been able to get some work done and watch at the same time.
Although our visitors are still increasing, the rate at which has decreased slightly so we're going to sit back a bit, enjoy the world cup and come up with a new strategy for July - well mid July anyway.
Just letting you know, we've not dissapeared; just gone a bit football mad.
P.S. Finally the states have found some form, so too have Ghana though - looking forward to Thursday.

12 June 2006 - Team USA...
Our latest stats are here, you can see we've already achieved what we did last month - which is sweet.
Now so, the States (Thats where I was born!) kick off the World Cup campaign today against the Czech Republic, it looks like Baros and possibly Nedved will be out so that's good news. USA are still very much the underdogs but an early goal and we could scrape it.
Also, well done to England for getting off the starting blocks with a win. Although they'll want to beat Trinidada & Tobago because if they play the same way they played against Paraguay they'll be in trouble when it comes facing Sweden.
Anyway that's my world cup rant, now buy some ad space you crazy fool.

7 June 2006 - Monthly review.
Now officially 1 month old; we've achieved the following since our launch:
--> 143,273 hits!
--> 8,210 unique visitors!
--> One day entry into the Alexa top 50k
We also have 70-80 websites that link back to us; you can view our latest figures here.
I've had a look around and found other websites with very similar stats who also sell advertising space; the going rate for such sites appear to be in the region of $100 - $150 per ad, our charge of $50 for 3 years is starting to look extremely competitive. Bearing in mind the age of our site, our stats seem to be rising on an almost exponential curve.
Now though, for the most important figures of all - 2 days until the World Cup!
Will Costa Rica upset the hosts on the opening match? Maybe.
Will I be watching at least 3 hours of football a day for the next month? Definitely!
Don't worry, that gives me 21 hours per day left to work on addrandom.con, the site of 2006!

29 May 2006 - WOW!
Over 18,000 hits yesterday! That's over a quater of our total hits for May, all in one day.
The site is definitely starting to pick up some momentum now; I did a little press release to some local papers this morning as well so hope to see some resultant traffic from that.

22 May 2006 - Some impressive stats.
For May now we've had a total of 25892 hits, over 8000 of those came in the last 3 days.
We've been working hard! I myself have been submitting the site to hundreds of directories, MANUALLY!
The wheels have also started turning for August and "Operation X", by July I'll hopefully be in a better position to advise you on what's going on and how we'll start to bring millions of visitors to the site.
In saying all that only 19 ad plots have gone, this is good news for advertisers because there is less competition for a place on the front page. However it also means I may be watching the World Cup on my 15in CRT as a opposed to a brand new 42in plasma, so come make a boys dream come true and increase your market potential while your at it!

16 May 2006 - Coincidence comes in tens.
As of today our site is 10 days old, 10 plots have now been allocated, and we are now averaging over 1000 (10x10x10) hits per day
Of course with the 10th plot now gone there are only 19,990 to go... almost there
Get on board now, the more you wait the more customers you miss.

12 May 2006 - We are in the top 100K!
Alex.com is an independent traffic rank system which ranks websites according to their visitors, our rank for today is 75, 364, with roughly 8 million sites registered on Alexa we are very much a "top-gun" site. Our goal as always is to improve, we will get this figure down in no time!

09 May 2006 - 3 days in . . .
So far so good, the number of hits for May currently stands at 7490, which is respectable although we will of course endeavour to raise this exponentially over the next few months, we are still very much in website infancy
If you want to measure our potential for success you can go to www.silktide.com, they provide a well detailed and unbiased site score summary. Notice user experience is 9.4 / 10; Addrandom! is an almost perfect environment for visitors to browse ads
Finally, as you may or may not be aware it is now only 1 month and 1 day to the FIFA World Cup 06 in Germany. That means that in 1 month I'll need to be able to afford a 42" Plasma, so thanks to those who have already placed an ad; and for those who have yet to then you can do so here
You don't have to have an online company, post an ad about yourself and be part of something big in 2006!
