How does the site work?

It is very simple;
We have 20,000 “plots” to sell at $50 US per plot.
Each plot will contain an image and a link.
Every time someone visits our site a plot will be picked at random to load onto the homepage.
So, the more plots you buy, the greater the chance a visitor will see your advert.
We only show plots that have been allocated an advert, so the sooner you buy the more your advert will load.

What does addrandom mean?

Nothing.

We wanted a name that would describe how our site worked.
Ad is short for advert. Random describes how your adverts are loaded.
Randomad and adrandom were both taken.
Addrandom sounds the same, but we think that extra “d” looks much better.

Why are you better than other forms of web advertising?

We have two main competitors.

The first is paying for ad placement on search engine result pages.
We don’t like this because everyone knows the majority of search engine users don’t look beyond the first page of results. If you can only afford to be on the 5th page then you are wasting money and missing out on loads of potential customers.
No matter what you pay on addrandom.com you still have the chance to be the 1st advert to load, or even the second. Guests will probably click the random ad button a few times.

The second form of advertising is the new pixel phenomenon. We are better than them because;
With us $50 gets you an advert the size and quality of the one you saw on the way in.

With them, $50 will get you an ad the size of a pin prick, you cannot click what you cannot see (Chinese proverb that I just made up).

How will you look after my investment?

Again the aim is simple, for us to make money, and for you, we must get as many people to visit this site as possible. We expect no less than 75million visitors by the end of August and here’s a brief description how.

May – Site launch, you’re probably here following up a direct e-mail sent by one of us. Times your e-mail by about 15,000 plus 1000 or so blogs and forums and add a few thousand chat rooms. Hit expectancy - 200,000.

Jun – We will continue with the word of mouth campaign only on a higher intensity. Our statistics will also put us in a position to do a local press release; we will also get some on-line editorials on side. Hit expectancy – 1,000,000.

Jul – Going global, we will be exhausting all avenues of getting people to our site, chat rooms, forums, blogs, e-mails, word of mouth. Towards the end of July we will be doing a global press release, recruiting foreign speakers to help with foreign newspapers. This press release will be in conjunction with August. Hit expectancy – 2.5 million.

Aug – We need to keep the lid on this at the moment, but there is something really big planned for the start of August. Hit expectancy – 75 million minimum.

How can I help get the most out of my new advert?

We want as many people clicking on your ad as possible, we want to make money which means we need to help you make money.

We promise to bring people to your advert, it is up to you however which determines whether someone will click your ad or move onto the next one. Here are a few things we have learned:

Our page design is very…white, it means the first thing a visitor sees is your advert.

Keep them focussed by using bright colours and BIG font.

Test the theory, “A picture says a thousand words”.

Test this theory, “A word says (conveys) a thousand pictures”.

Don’t overwhelm your advert with a product list or all your special offers for the month, intrigue is a very strong marketing ploy. Curiosity is probably why you’re here now.

Finally, now this is a really good tip so read very carefully.

Instead of buying 5 plots at once, consider buying 5 separate plots – this means you can have 5 different advert images all linking to the same website.

Continusly check the stats on these 5 different ads, by the end of the month you will find 1 ad out performs the rest in terms of brining potential customers to your site.

Change the rest of the plot images, bar one, to the more effective advert. Keep one plot free, and give it a completely new image, try to out perform your best ad so far, and then change the rest accordingly.

This is an extremely cheap but effective way of market research.

Further to having a good advert, why not tell a few people to tell a few people etc to visit this site. Although the people you e-mail may not see your advert, other people following different leads
will.

If enough of you do this it will be beneficial for all!

Consider that through 6 people we know everyone in the world, send an e-mail to 6 people and see how quickly this snowballs. Expect a lot of visitors.

Who is “we”?

Well it’s more like “me”, my name is Colm O’Dwyer and I am a 21-year old money making wannabe from Glasgow, UK. I was born in Columbus, OH and intend to go back there for a year in 2007 if I can afford it.

I get by with a little help from my friends, If you’ve had an e-mail from Jimmy or Trisha you’ll know what I mean.

Why?

I should be getting a patent published by the end of 2006, I will need money to develop a prototype – which could be quite expensive. Plus, as mentioned I would like to go to the states for a year or so.

Addrandom is cheap to set-up, but has great money making potential provided I put in the work. I have been doing 90hr weeks since January and intend to keep this up until the site has made the 75million mark.

I have faith in the idea because it is extremely simple and accessible, and I believe that simplicity is genius.

Does that make me a simpleton?
